Our story
Cafe On Strand sits at 2 The Strand in the heart of Croydon, a quiet inner-west pocket of Sydney's Inner West, NSW 2132. We're right next to Croydon station, about 60 seconds on foot, and a short drive from Burwood, Ashfield, and Five Dock. Our cafe is built for the neighbourhood. Grab a takeaway flat white on the way to the platform, or settle in for a long breakfast with the paper at a footpath table.
We serve specialty coffee, a house espresso blend, a rotating single-origin filter, and an all-day food menu. Everything is made to order. We have indoor seating for rainy days and outdoor tables on The Strand for when the sun's out. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables. There's no liquor license. We're a cafe, not a bar, but we pour fresh-pressed juices, smoothies, chai, and matcha all day.
What makes us different
We're an inner-city cafe that takes coffee seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. Our baristas dial in the house espresso blend throughout the day. It is a Brazilian and Colombian roast that hits chocolate and stone fruit with a clean finish. The single-origin filter changes weekly, so there's always something new on the pour-over bar if you want to go beyond the flat white.
The food menu runs all day from open to close. Whether you roll in at 6am for smashed avo on sourdough or swing by at 2pm for a Strand beef burger and hand-cut chips, the kitchen is firing. Everything is made to order from fresh produce.
Dogs are welcome at our footpath tables, which catch the morning sun and are perfect for a long black with the paper. Inside is warm and sheltered. Good for rainy days or when you need to plug in and get an hour of work done over a batch brew.

We don't have a liquor license, and we're proud of it. We're a cafe, not a bar. That means the coffee is always on, the food is always fresh, and the vibe is always relaxed. Parking is free for two hours, both on The Strand and in the nearby Croydon council car park. Dogs are welcome at the footpath tables.
